What is a "live edge"?+
A live edge is the gap between the sportsbook's current total and what our model thinks the final total will be. A positive edge means the model projects the game to go OVER the market line; negative means UNDER. The larger the gap, the stronger the signal.
How does the model work?+
The model uses the current score, time remaining, and live scoring pace to project the final total. It applies adjustments for blowout dampening, late-game foul inflation (NBA), and bullpen/inning factors (MLB). The output is compared against the live market total to calculate the edge.
What is "Playable To"?+
Playable To is the specific total number the model says you can bet up to while still maintaining an edge over the house. If the edge is OVER 224.5, Playable To might say 227.0 — meaning you still have value on the OVER even if the line moves up to 227.
